What do you do when a photographer friend invites you to cycle with her around Cambodia for 4 weeks, and you barely know what a bicycle is? You Go! Carrying all my luggage on a bike was a bit of a challenge as to what camera equipment to take, but I eventually whittled it down to my Fujifilm X-Pro 2 body with a 10-24 and a 50-140mm, 12 memory cards, 5 batteries, and a gorilla tripod. I would choose one lens to use at the beginning of each day that would stay mounted on the camera in my handlebar bag for quick and easy access . Leana, who has been cycle touring for the past 12 years, is a brilliant photographer and quickly taught me to lose my shyness with capturing the local people as well as introducing me to an amazing variety of food, which also, apart from been eaten, provided endless fun in comparing shots at the end of each day.

My thoughts once I was home again…? What a wonderful way to travel and do photography; Next stop….? England’s coastline, Holland, Denmark… or hopefully even India!

I have not captioned my pictures as I would just like to show life in Cambodia as I saw it through my camera; the colours, the smells, the tastes, the light, the shadows, and the wonderful warmth of a beautiful nation.
